Damien is a pretty ordinary guy, he goes to sixth form, plays drums and studies. Adrian however is a typical 'popular' guy, not that he acts like a dick. They're both pretty average high-school aged boys. They both love music, play instruments and struggle with teenage life, hormones and peers.
Only, those struggles are made harder when circumstances lead to Damien's 'coming out' and the fallout that follows makes for an incredibly difficult roller coaster ride.

I am definitely an HEA kind of person. I like some angst and ups and downs, but root for the characters to get their happily ever after. That did not happen here. Basically because of one b!tchy female, these guys had their whole lived turned upside down and inside out, and ultimately lost in the end. I did finish the book, mostly because the real tragedy didn't happen until the end, but this is one of the few books that I really wish I never read. I suppose in some senses it was a very powerful book, because it did stay with me for some time after I read the last page. It does invoke very powerful emotions, which is certainly a credit to the author. It had a modern day Romeo and Juliet vibe to it, and honestly I didn't like that story either. It comes down to personal preference. The writing was good, and for some this book would be right up their ally. It just wasn't for me.Product details

I thought this was a fairly decent book... right up to the murder-suicide. Do prefer a happy ending love story.
I won't give away the story but with a little editing and story flow, this would have been excellent, even with the errors it is still a story that shouldn't be missed. I was not super crazy about the ending it felt like two different stories at times. Enjoy!
Really enjoyed the love story...was too sad an ending
The story took a long time to get flowing and whilst the story line was there it got caught up in too many sub plots
And the ending was extremely dissatisfying
It started as one of the cheesiest Disney movie, end up with an unexpected tragedy. Honestly, if you don't like tragedy, just read everything but the last two chapters. Honestly, the last two chapter, although adds more memory to the book, is unnecessary and seriously abrupt. I wish I didn't read the last two. It would be a perfect high school romance story without the last two chapters, I think. In addition, it honestly was a shocking that the people in this story are mostly either super nice or mentally
disrupted. After all, it was a novel! I hope I can see a movie without last two chapters in it though. I would really love it.
Yes there are editing issues throughout this book but my rating is based on the storyline flow and the startling ending I certainly wasn't prepared for it to end yet. If you read this and want something else just as emotionally charged read For Danny by Kaitlin Scott.
The author needs to go back in time and rewrite the ending. Then set up camp and write the three other books of their lives as the go to college, get jobs, maybe get married have some kids filled with lots of angst brought on by delusional Sammy and Josh. Maybe a possible rift and love triangle... James and Jessie falling in love... But this ending... Just when you think the roller coaster is coming in to a gentle stop a freak asteroid hits the earth and annihilates all life from the planet.
